Costa Rica and China have more than 10 years of solid commercial relations, being the Asian country our second most important commercial partner: in 2021, for example, the value of exports was $308 million, while imports reached $2,938 million, according to data from The Ministry of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica (COMEX).

We import from that country: Iron or steel laminates, laptops, cell phones, television screens, vehicles, tires, toys, plastic items, and electronic devices.
The export of Costa Rican products to China presents great challenges due to the transit times of the merchandise, transshipments and cargo security.
